No women allowed??? Empty No women allowed???

Apparently some club in the Boston area is allowing females in the MMDL to grace their presence by "allowing" them through the doors. This led to a "dig" thrown at the Rockland Eagles to join suit and allow female membership. Derek was quick to defend the Eagles with this post...

Just to clear something up...womnen are welcome at the Rockland Eagles after 7:00 pm when accompanied by a member. There is no auxillary at the therefore no women members. I would venture to say that there will never be any woman members at the club. The majority of the members would roll over and die if they ever passed a statute allowing female members. There is no law that says they have to allow them, so they are well within their rights...and the club is one of if not the most successful of its kind in the state...very few do the business that the club not having women does not seem to be hurting them. But if they were allowed in as members, a good number of guys would leave...probably more than the incoming women. And again it is their right to allow who they want as they are a private club.

So the Eagles is a Private Club and should be allowed to do whatever they want like smoke and ban women? Business is great as is, and I'm sure that's true, but why stop there? If you banned blacks and gays, business would probably get even BETTER!!! Hell why stop at just the chicks (which is probably the least irritating bunch of that crew). Private club SHOULD = discrimination of race AND sexual orientation, not JUST GENDER!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Private club means just that..private. Don't like it, go elsewhere or start your own.

That said even "public" bars are still privately owned and have the right to refuse service as they wish. One bartender I knew wouldn't serve people who wore their hats to the side, annoyed the hell out of him.
