The 5th week

Very tight with half the matches going three games. Unfortunately, we lost 3 out of the 4 that went three games. Absolutely let a couple slip away, and if we had won just ONE of them we would have been looking at an overtime situation. It's becoming REAL tough to only give Brian (and his 11-3 record) just two matches. It's a fine line between trying to be fair and give everyone equal games, and doing what's best for the team by playing your best guys three (which gives others just one). Next week marks our halfway point (we have a BYE week 7). Might have to re-evaluate for the second half.

On a positive note, the match was done by 10PM.

Was a tough match for us as well. None of us really shot well. That sad it was a squeaker in O.T. but we lost in 3 games.

Interesting question of the week from a call I got last night: If the scorekeeper calls the score and the darts subsequently fall out does the score count?

What's your answer?

I say they count. Not that it matters in this league, but i believe in minute man it states in the rules that it counts.

I have always heard that if AFTER the third dart is thrown, and the scorer acnowledges the darts in the board, then the darts fall out as the player is walking towards the line then the darts count. If the darts fall out BEFORE the complete turn is over, or fall out quick enough that the scorer couldn't verify the score, then they do not count. After the third dart is thrown, the darts must be stuck in the board long enough for the scorer to confirm (which should only be about 2 or 3 seconds).

You're right, it counts. The scorekeeper has called the score which can't be done until all darts have been thrown and the score stands. Thought there might be some disagreement or at least another viewpoint...

It's not specified in the rules, though. Don't really think it needs to be.

It's penalty week for unpaid fees/dues...including my team.

oh.... but they did get the win in OT not us. Or because of the deduction do we get the win?

Nice catch, Eric...I would have had to fix it later. Can't be affecting the match outcome through penalties (at least I haven't yet). I'll have to get creative.
