The last 4 teams that got forced up to Super A were We R S Faced (Fall'09), Mecca Swamp Box (Spring '10), Assassins (Fall '10), and Predators (Spring '11). These were considered the BEST of the BEST in the A division. The Predators and Mecca Swamp Box were SOUTH SHORE A CHAMPIONS. Mecca Swamp Box went down to the wire in the STATE A CHAMPIONSHIP. Thier record in the Super A's is 2-49-3 COMBINED!!! Only Mecca Swamp Box and the Predators ever won a SINGLE MATCH in the Super A's. Mecca Swamp Box finished 67 points out of first, and THAT was the CLOSEST any of those teams EVER got to 1st. (Predators finished 70 points out, WRSF finished 77 points out, and Assassins finished 109 points out). Collectively, they had 23 matches in which they were BLOWN OUT 10-2 or worse (led by 8 times by the Assassins and 7 times by WRSF). That's almost HALF of all matches played ending up in a BLOW-OUT (43%) Doesn't sound so competitive does it? Doesn't even sound remotely fun. In fact, sounds like it completely SUCKED BALLS!!!
Now the League is pushing for an EIGHT team Super A division?!?!? Huh? What? You've got teams missing the playoffs (meaning finishing out of FOURTH place) by 25 and 47 points the last 2 seasons and you want to EXPAND?!?! Are you fucking SHITTING me? Expand for WHAT? So that the teams that are finishing last and second to last will now get to finish 5th and 6th instead? Big fucking deal! If anything, the league should be CONTRACTING! Worried that going back to just 4 teams will make the season meaningless? Then have just the TOP 2 from each area make the playoffs. They're realistically the ONLY ones who have a shot in the playoffs anyway! There is not even CLOSE to enough talent in this league to support 32 Super A teams. There's not enough talent to support 24 for Christs sake.
Go back to the 16 Super A teams. 4 in each division. Top 2 make the playoffs for just 8 playoff teams. Last place gets to move down, and ONLY the A CHAMPION has to move up. Why WATER DOWN the top division? It should be the ELITE. The BEST. Not the BEST and a bunch of suckers for them to feed on. A 12 week season playing everyone twice (2 home and 2 away) followed by 3 rounds of playoffs.
Boring you say? Don't want to play the same teams 4 times you say? Then COMBINE schedules the Central and South and do the same for Boston and North, but NOT divisions. In other words, keep the 4 areas separate, but have them play 'interleague' (one home and one away). That way each area still would get 2 representatives in the playoffs. The travel from the South to the North would SUCK during the regular season though, so you would have to match the South up with either Central or Boston (with Central seeming like the more obvious choice).
Adding MORE teams to the Elite division just doesn't make any sense at all. More teams DOES NOT mean more competition. LESS DOES!
